Jurnal ICMES: The Journal of Middle East Studies provides a forum for original research and critical discussion that advances scholarly understanding of the Middle East and its relations with the wider world. The journal covers politics, international relations, economics, security, culture, and history. It welcomes interdisciplinary perspectives on conflict, social and political change, regional and international cooperation, and the region’s diverse cultural and historical traditions. Through these studies, the journal seeks to promote informed academic debate and a deeper understanding of the Middle East, including its relations with Indonesia.  Jurnal ICMES accepts original research articles in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another. Reviewers assess the scholarly quality, originality, methodological soundness, and relevance of each manuscript. Final publication decisions are made by the editors, taking into account the reviewers’ assessments and the authors’ revisions. Jurnal ICMES is published twice a year, in June and December.
